• The Summerleas Eagles cricket team, which is based at Lightwood Park Oval and competes in the HCCA league, was established in 2012 by a number of enthusiastic lovers of the game in the Greater Hobart region of Tasmania.

In it's first year the club was invited to play in grade B of the competition after considering the quality and experience of it's cricketers by the board of the HCCA. Although the club currently has one team in the league, the club's associates inclusive of the members, sponsors and committee members are working enthusiastically to grow the club and it's member base. The response from the community has been very encouraging and the club's expectation is that it will be able to accommodate two quality cricket team's in the near future.
As well as Australian cricketers, SECC has a distinctly international flavour, with players from as far a field as New Zealand, Fiji, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh. The club aims to attract more members, of any age group from the Kingston area for the current season. We value enthusiasm and commitment above ability, though the latter is certainly a bonus. We believe cricket is more than just a game, it is a lifestyle! Hence we encourage social members to participate as well.
